Charlotte, NC | On June 11, 2020, Robert Wilkie, 10th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, visited the Charlotte VA Health Care Center to gain insight on the facility’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis. According to the Secretary’s own account on Twitter, “In talking with staff at the Charlotte Vet Center, they shared how they adjusted during the pandemic to help serve Veterans.” Wilkie’s tweet shared examples of the facility’s adaptability by stating, “they increased tele-health appointments and moved some therapy sessions outside to a park to help better serve our Veterans.” Ultimately, Secretary Wilkie proclaimed his support of VA Charlotte’s medical workers by proclaiming, “They are on the frontline!”

The Charlotte VA Health Care Center was completed by Childress Klein – Cambridge Healthcare Solutions, LLC in 2016.
